I went to Thai Spice for a takeout. Thai Spice is more of a takeout than a sit-down restaurant. You can go there for lunch or a quick take out for lunch. Like the other Thai Spice, the menu is more suitable to the American public. You can tell them how spicy your foods are. My favorite take-out is their Spicy Fried Rice (Basil Fried Rice). Try don't order it too hot unless you can take the HEAT. I have to say the waiters/waitresses there are friendly.

I went to this restaurant for lunch. I ordered the Fire Chicken on the menu. I was not very impressed by the service or the quality of my dish. Maybe it's during lunch time and maybe it's was busy during the time I went there, but I found everything was rushed. Previously when I went there with my co-workers, we were served with rice soups first. But this time, they totally skipped that. I noticed that they did serve that to the other tables. The Fire Chicken was somewhat blend. Although, I have to say it's at a nice location and the ambiance is very nice. So if you want to try Thai Bamboo Bistro, try it with more than a few friends and not during lunch time. Maybe try their Curry dishes instead of the Fire Chicken. I remember their Curry dishes were pleasant.

We visited Thai This on Saturday. It was a chilly night so a warm meal would be great. When my friend Chris and I arrived to the front door, we were greeted by the owner Mr.Jiab. After spending about 15 minutes at the bar watching an NBA game and chit-chatting with the ever-so-entertaining bartender, we were seated and able to taste the foods. This is how I would break it down:

1) Foods
After we were seated, we were served some tasty snacks - finger-size spring roll and beef-on-a-stick with peanut sauce. Definitely better than just having those every so common buffalo wings.

For the main entree, I ordered Border Runner(Ka Ting Tone) which is a grilled marinated beef with an assortment of chopped vegetables. It was served with a portion of rice. The slices of beef were moist mainly because they were covered with the vegetables. If you like a healthy meal, you would like this dish. Next time, I would order something spicier!

2) Service
I found the waiters and waitresses very friendly. A few of them even helped us to prepare the birthday cake for our friend David (who is just a year older now).

3) Ambiance
Although the restaurant is small, it is very cozy. Since the light was dimmed, I found it a suitable choice for a romantic evening.

4) Location
The restaurant is located in the center of the harbor town Dana Point. Dana Point is quiet in comparison to Los Angeles, but that location is not far from some hotspots of the town such as Hennessey (a well-known pub). One thing I have to say is that parking is limited, so prepare to park your car on the street.

5) Others. BTW, they have a big collection of wines and alcohol. If you are like me who cannot drink, you can try their fruity drinks. Very tasty as well.

Overall, I found the experience pleasant. So I definitely would recommend Thai This for a funny dinner or a romantic date!
