Hard to find a good thai restaurant in the OC unless you go to Thai Town. Chaiyo is prob the best one i've gone to down here. They have stuff here that you can't get at the normal thai restaurants unless you go to thai town.
Aside from the usual dishes like Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, Tom Yum Goong, Garlic Beef, Som Tom (papaya salad), Pad Kee Mao, and Yom Nua (beef salad).. all of which are really good.. the following are 2 dishes that have now become my faves.. never tasted anywhere else but here..
one of my faves is a salad w/ lap chong (sweet sausage) and lime-based dressing (lime, fishsauce, onion, garlic, cilantro ) . Not on the menu but i've learned how to say it in thai. Order this: "yom goon chieng".
my other fave, not sure if it's on the menu is these pork balls that are grilled and skewered and dipped in a sweet/sour dipping sauce. TO DIE FOR. Order this: "luke chin ping".
And then order a side dish of sticky rice.
Pricing is very reasonable as well.
